Highway 59 in Texas from Texarkana to Houston is an engineered speed trap. The rural speed is 70 but each and every town along the route sets their speeds several miles out of town and gradually reduces them from 70 to 60 to 50 to 40 to 35 then repeats the process going out of town 35 to 40 to 50 to 60 to finally 70 again and they streach the city limit marker 5 miles out on each side of town so if you don’t watch carefully when leaving town you are at 70 mph and the city limit is still 50 or maybe 45 and they capatilize on that with a passion.
