Venus, TexasMay 27, 20060 Comments

going into Venus on hwy 157 from South to North the speed limit changes from 55 to 45 to 30 to 20 in less than 1/4 mile, the police officer sits in front of the 90 degree left hand curve where 157 turns into 8th street. As you approch the turn you see the police car on the left shoulder
with the 30 mph sign on the right followed by a 20mph sign. If you see the officer and not the 30 mph sign, you will get a ticket for 45 in a 30.

Hwy 67 between I35 E & I35W

Venus, TexasJul 15, 20020 Comments

This is a one patrol car town and this is how they pay for it. Hwy 67 is a four lane divided highway between two major interstates. The speed limit varies dramatically from 50 to 70. If you are not paying close attention you will be in a 55 zone and not not it. The city limits of this “town”” Venus has a large footprint on the highway compared to the size of the actual town probably about 5 miles and they hide all along it mainly right over hills. P.S. the cops are very big headed so watch your responses or they will give you grief. “
