Wichita Falls, Texas Speed Traps
Seymour Hwy/ 5th Street
Heading east on Seymour Hwy as you pass the Wichita Falls Credit Union (on the left) right over the hill, motocycle cops love to sit in an old closed down gas station (on the right). He is sitting maybe 50 feet past a speed sign that drops the speed limit to 30 from 35, so when he pulls you over you get a ticket for speeding over 30, even though he clocked you in the 35. This is really a tricky spot.
Kemp Boulevard near Callfield Boulevard
On Kemp just south of Callfield (right by the mall). Motorcycle cops sit on the median, waiting.
11 Loop near US Highway 287
Another HOT Spot for motorcycle police is under the Loop 11 overpass sitting in between the north and south bound lanes.
If your traveling southbound on I287 the speed reduces from 70 to 60 approx 1/4 mile before the Loop 11 overpass. This is where you really need to be heads up for those dreaded ticket givers.
Another note: I purchased the best Cobra detector on the market, set it up next to my brothers Bel 995 to compair. I passed several motorcycle cops, in Wf area, and not once did my Cobra alert off to the laser used while my brothers did a wonderful job of notifying what was ahead.
Needless to say I took the Cobra back and spent the additional 100.00 bucks for the Bel. Its quite worth the extra money compaired to the cost of a ticket!
Interstate 44 near Interstate 44
This area is under construction and you don’t see the cop until you are on him. He is on a cycle and is very sneaky. Avoid this are at all cost.
