This is the most widely known about speed trap in the state of Utah. The mayor is also the police chief of Mantua. Make sure not to exceed 60mph or you will be cited. Mantua brings in over 1/3 of their city income from speeding tickets.
Anywhere along U.S. 89/91 near the town of Mantua
Mantua is a small town/village located adjacent to a large reservoir east of Brigham City on the road to Logan. The town employs three constables equipped with laser speed guns, whose speeding citations are the major source of revenue for the town. The speed limit is 60 mph. Drivers beware!
State Route Sardine Canyon near State Highway 89-91
This is a small town within Sardine Canyon en route to Logan (USU). The town has one cop who likes to look for speeders in a gray truck. He hides wherever he can–in Mantua, along the freeway, among the side roads, near the farms, etc. I have had friends pulled over for going 2 mph over the speed limit. The cop is famous for this–go anything over the 60 mph posted speed (hard to do in some areas as Sardine Canyon has hills) and you will get a ticket.
