Kempsville Road

Norfolk, VirginiaJul 25, 20020 Comments

Kempsville Road between Virginia Beach Blvd. and Northhampton Blvd. This fairly main road use to be 35 MPH. After residents complained the limit was lowered to 25 MPH (and 15MPH in the school zone). Enforcement is constant with moving and stationary radar. Ignore the residents who climb up your back bumper and do the 25MPH. A great revenue source for Norfolk.

I-64 West, just past the Terminal Blvd Exit, start of I-564 onramp to I-64

Norfolk, VirginiaApr 17, 20020 Comments

Just as you past the Terminal Blvd. exit, the road makes a fairly blind sharp left (most of the left is over a bridge). Just as you clear the turn, there is an "Emergency Vehicle Only" driveway on the left connecting the West bound lanes and the reversible HOV lanes. State cops like to sit there and radar on I-64 West (and possibly monitor HOV on the HOV lanes). This position is not visible until you complete the turn at the top of the bridge; by that time, it is too late. Speed limit on non-HOV is 55, traffic routinely goes well above 75.

Hampton Blvd at the Lafayette River

The cops will get you on either side as you come over the bridge. The bridge is steep so they get you right on the top. You go from a wide open area to a residential area where the speed limit decreases (on the bridge).
