Between Exit 100 and 101 on I-5 in Olympia

Olympia, WashingtonJan 08, 20120 Comments

When I went through it was operating south bound but no reason they could not turn it around.

One officer leaves his car and walks to the overpass with his radar gun and radio. 5 cars were paying the speed tax when I went through and one more police car was heading down the on ramp when I passed through. There are several places where this would work in Olympia on I-5. The speed limit drops from 70 to 60 here as well. Drive carefully.

Evergreen Parkway at Entrance to Evergreen College

Campus Police tend to park on the shoulder near the entrance to Evergreen College (near Mud Bay Road) where the speed limit drops from 50 to 35. I’ve seen cruisers there as early as 5:30 AM nabbing folks exiting the campus over the speed limit, and I’ve seen them there in the evenings looking for folks entering the campus who don’t make the drop in speed quickly enough.

Stater likes to sit off to the right hand side of the road radaring people as they come around the corner.

5600-6141] Martin Way E, Lacey, WA 98516

Olympia, WashingtonMar 10, 20100 Comments

For 15+ years this is where the sheriff’s department has hidden behind berms to trap drivers coming from a section of road that was 50 mph to an instantaneous 40 mph.

They have now put in a hidden camera, changed the speed limit on different sections of the road and removed the signs that state the speed limit.

Black Lake Blvd. (Near the New Fire Station)

Olympia, WashingtonFeb 12, 20100 Comments

They sit in the parking lot of the Black Lake Fire Station during the times that kids get out of school. Pretty much evening hours only. Also, up the hill from Black Lake Grocery on the right in an abondaned driveway. Also on Delphi Road next to the entrance of the walking trails
