US Highway 190 near Coming into the city   Kempner, Texas

Kempner is a very small town between Killeen/Copperas Cove and Lampasas on HWY 190. BE CAREFUL! Despite the two-man police force, they are very agressive about the 45MPH slowdown through Kempner. Also, be aware of the road to the post office -- the speed is about 25MPH through here and they ticket aggresively. Also be warned of a black SUV sitting on that corner for no reason -- it is a civilian who likes to call the cops on violaters.

US 190, between Lampasas and Copperas Cove   Kempner, Texas

The speed limit on either side of Kempner is posted at 70 mph and then suddenly reduces to 55 and then 45 within a short distance. For those of us not caring to pay attention to speed limit signage, this poses a distinct problem as the Kempner City Marshal and his Deputy Marshal strictly enforce this small but effective speed trap. I have heard rumors that the City Marshal has access to a cropduster and uses it to on a regularly to enforce this 45 mph speed trap.

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
