I-20 anywhere near the city limits (even outside)   Waskom, Texas

The small town cops of Waskom patrol this regularly. If someone is speeding near you, make sure to slow down & give wide berth. Many people have been stopped & ticketed claiming that the second person was going the same rate. You can try to fight it but that's their city revenue & they use a DA, not the standard traffic court. They even use incorrect radar info (against the laws of radar physics). They may even stop you & further discussion shows that it was outside their city limits. In court for my ticket, they showed the video of the person in front of me who was doing the actual speeding (didn't show my supposed speeding stop) & had the audacity to not even edit out how the cop told the guy that he wouldn't charge him for a construction area stop if he just paid. (It wasn't a construction area--no barrels, signs or workers. But the guy was buying it hook, line & sinker. He should've just looked around & behind him. A cop friend (from a big city) was stopped weeks after me; he runs the radar dept & knew that he was being fed a line of bull as well as knowing he wasn't doing anything wrong. He was let go after much arguing (& letting Waskom know his background).

From Mile marker 635 to Mile marker 633 along I-120   Waskom, Texas

I do believe it's against the LAW for a city to set up regular "speed traps" on or along Federal Interstate highways. This town makes it's money from setting up in the median of I-20 hiding at bridge overpasses. They "ticket" for 1mph over the speed limit and will even say you were going faster than the legal speed, despite your having cruise control on. They do the same thing along U.S. Hwy 80. AVOID this TOWN!

US Highway I-20   Waskom, Texas

This is a small community on I-20 near the Louisiana state line. The police force will sit along the interstate, especially at night, since in the state of Texas the speed limit drops from 70 mph to 65 mph at night for passenger vehicles. Plus this community banks on the fact that a lot of vistors from the Dallas/Fort Worth area travel the I-20 corridor to visit the riverboat casinos in near by Shreveport/Bossier City, Louisiana.

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
