I-10   Marianna, Florida

The area just west of Exit 136 is used for training new FHP Officers. I have seen as many as 6 autos pulled over at the same time with another officer waiting in his car for a stop. One recent trick was to have a FHP car on an over pass with a radar gun looking at oncoming westbound traffic and calling for the stops to the waiting patrol cars. In addition to speed related stops they are strictly enforcing the new law that requires a vehicle to move to the center lane or reducing speed when passing a patrol car stopped on the right side of the road. I have seen the same concentrated activity by FHP at various times from exit 136 to exit 120. Usually westbound close to exit 136 and eastbound close to exit 120.

Highwa 231   Marianna, Florida

As you enter Marianna city limits (we were driving from Georgia to Panama City Beach), the speed limit goes from 55, then 45, then 35, maybe even 25 (I forget). The police are sitting next to various small roadside stores/stands, hidden until you pass them. The speed limit drops so fast within such a small distance, that you have to ride your breaks from the first sign until you get to the otherside of the town. If you don't, you'll get tagged.

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
