Centerville, Georgia Speed Traps
Norris Lake Rd. at GA Hwy 124
Norris Lake Rd., heading West is a country road. The speed limit should be like similar roads…35 to 45 mph. Before it intersects with Hwy 124, there is a steep hill. Gwinnett County Police sit at the bottom of the hill on a regular basis. It is quite a revenue raiser. In 30 years of traveling this road, I have never seen an accident.
The whole town
If anyone is wondering if Centerville is a speed trap, all they have to do is answer one question.
Why else would a town of 2.8 square miles need 10 cop cars?
Houston Lake Road
Centerville Police cars (they have at least 10-12 in inventory) seen parked on side near bottom of creek bridge, by curve on Houston Lake Road, and parked on sides of road.
North Houston Lake Road near North side of town
Traveling south on Houston lake Road, Houston County Police
usually sits just around a curve coming into Centerville late at night. I have been stopped and ticketed and noticed others as well getting the same treatment. Beware!
Church Street near Collins Avenue
Cross your t’s and dot your i’s. There are usually 2 units staked out there and they don’t seem to need any reason at all to pull you over.
