Athens Street   Hartwell, Georgia

During the day and night, officers park in the yard at 497 Athens Street and run radar back toward the city limit sign. As you come around the curve coming into Hartwell, they are 540 feet smiling at you in a 25 MPH HISTORIC ZONE. They are difficult to see.

Every City Street Street near Entire City Street   Hartwell, Georgia

This town will write you a ticket for one mile over the speed limit. They are profilers, the Chief lets them free lance. The other most popular fine is failure to maintain lane. People should avoid this town!

Entire Town/City Limits   Hartwell, Georgia

Our town has been put on the Historic Register. The city council has voted to stop and fine anyone going over the speed limit of 25 MPH. Even 1 MPH over the limit! It is holding up traffic flow, causing people to pass in the turning lane etc. With the inclines and declines along the way, I have to drive under 20 MPH so as not to get over 25 on the declines. It is disconcerting to drive along with a line of cars behind. I don't know how it could be proved that a car is going one MPH over the posted limit but several fines have already been collected. I live in the county and go into Hartwell as little as I can. The town was nearly dead already, this could finish it off.

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
