Charles River Rd. Parkway near Bay Street   Watertown, Massachusetts

This ex-MDC (now DCR) parkway had is speed limit and signage installed in 1969 by decree. For a 3/4 mi. stretch from Watertown Square there are no signs confirming the unrealistic 30 MPH speed limit. Watertown PD officers harvest this road like a $100 toll road. Better than 50% of the time I have driven down this road there is a speed trap. Stay away from this parkway if you can.

Charles River Road near Bay Road   Watertown, Massachusetts

Charles River Road is a shortcut to avoid lights on North Beacon Stret and Arsenal Street. The speed limit is only 30 miles per hour and follows the Charles River with a park on the river side of the street.

Cops usually sit towards the Bay Street end of the road, and wait for people to round the corner further down on Charles River Road.

During times of nice weather, cops are usually next to the marina entrance towards the Bay Street end of Charles River Road. They stand on the side of the street nailing you with radar, and then step into the street to point at you and tell you to pull over. I got bagged for 45 in a 30.

Arsenal Street   Watertown, Massachusetts

I have seen this trap many times. Used to be a police car parked with all light off. Now they park the car in a parking right after lexus dealer at the start of the hill if your going to watertown SQ. The officer stands behind parked cars with a handheld radar gun (K band). They only use the radar on oncomming trafic.

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
