State Highway 104 & 124   Ione, California

Comming on State Route 104 from the west, city cops sit and hide behind things from Mule Creek Prison all the way into town, from the east, from Ca Route 88 into town, they also hide and wait for you, Ca Route 124 from Rt 88, they begin siting and hiding from the railroad crossing all the way into town, Ca Route 124 from State 16 also the City Of Plymouth and the intersection of Ca Routes 16 and 49, comming into Ione they hide and wait for you on side streets. The city uses 2 cars, one for checking your speed then the other will stop you in town, somewhat agressive, very strict, they will pull you over for doing a few miles over the posted speed limit. Watch out for highway patroll aircraft when comming into town.

Ione Rd (between Hwy 16 and Hwy 104)   Ione, California

While it's not technically a trap, there seems to be considerable coverage for this stretch of road. I would guess that 50% of the time I'm on this road, I see a CHP. I've seen them lurking (hiding?) on two locations - behind the shooting club sign and down in a hollow near some RR tracks. I'm not sure why this is such a hot bed for the CHP other than it's probably pretty easy pickins - most people (myself included) exceed the speed limit on this road because it is just a wide open road (with the exception of a couple of speed reduced curves). Be sure to keep your eyes peeled while on this short (8 miles?) stretch of road.
