When headed northwest after the speed limit is lowered to 45 from 55 while headed down a hill, about 200 to 300 feet after the speed limit was lowered to 45 and well before the half day road light, the speed limit is then abruptly lowered to 35. Don’t pass the first driveways after the hill headed northwest at more than 45, or you might get pulled over and ticketed. It is hard, but it might save you some time and money. They also get people accelerating too fast from the half day road light who know that the speed limit goes up to 55. If you go under 45, you should be fine.

When headed northwest on 14 while slightly curving down the hill, the speed limit suddenly goes down to 45 from 55. Just about 10 feet passed the speed limit 45 sign, in the restaurant driveway hidden by willow trees there is a cop with his radar out. They mostly get the people over 55, but give them a heftier fine for going 60 in a 45 rather than 60 in a 55. Not many people can slow down from 55 or 60 to 45 in 10 Fort

Just east of Route 22 on Northwest Highway, the FRG police park at the east end of the guard rail in some bushes and clock the eastbound traffic as cars accelerate off the traffic signal at 14 & 22. Where they sit, the speed limit is 45, but many drivers are going much faster as they anticipate the 55mph speed limit, a hundered yards farther east.
