Unmarked Normal PD squad car parked at split between n/b straight lanes and exit to n/b I-55. N/B traffic on Veterans Pkwy unable to see car until it crests hill over railroad bridge, upon which it is already too late to brake – as cop will have already registered your speed at the top of the hill. There are also no turn-offs from Veterans Pkwy at this location, therefore whether you continue to go straight or get on the ramp to n/b I-55, said cop can get behind you easily. Speed limit on Veterans Pkwy is still 45 mph at this location, but most traffic speeds up in preparation for getting onto I-55.

Numbers of squads will set on side streets behind bushes. They will also set one un marked unit in a turn lane in the middle of the street using hand held radars. this happens two – 4 days per week. more often when collage kids are moving back into town for school.
