River Forest, Illinois Speed Traps
Division Street. From Harlem to Thatcher.
On School Days, the School Speed Limit is strongly enforced in both directions ! By the time you see the Squad Car, it will be too late.
Thatcher Avenue near North Avenue
Speed Limit changes from 25 to 35 and then 25 again in a short distance with obscured signs.
Central Ave Street near Lathrop Street
Cop parks on Central facing Lathrop. There is a stop under the viaduct, actually it’s a 4-way stop, so I’m not sure what he’s waiting for, but he’s there, at least, every Sunday.
Madison Street near Keystone Avenue
Both Forest Park and River Forest share this one because they both share a border here along Madison. There is often either and unmarked or marked cop from either town here. They usually sit somewhere at the Goodearth green house.
Harlem Avenue near Thomas Street
Cops sit in the parking lot of the Jewish temple in River Forest right at Harlem and Thomas. Usually this is at night and the cop will have his lights off facing the street in either direction. I have seen them there two nights in a row.
