Warrenville, Illinois Speed Traps
Ferry road just east of Raymond in east bound direction.
The officer sits in the drive way on the South side of the street protected from view by a curve. The speed limit is 40 mph on this lightly populated section of 4 lane road. My correction to the problem is simple. Warrenville will receive their money but I will boycott purchases in the community until the difference is made up in sales tax. This will even the score monetarily, keep me from driving through their speed trap, makes me feel better about getting caught and perhaps the officers can justify their position tending to real crimes in their community.
Butterfield Road (Rt. 56) at Blackwell Forest Preserve
A police car sits in the entrance to the Blackwell Forest Preserve, presumably enforcing the ridiculous 35 mph construction speed limit. The officer appears to be reading/sleeping, not paying attention to traffic. And don’t those construction workers know enough not to play in traffic anyway?
Route 59 and Route 56 (Butterfield)
A police car is hiding in the construction cones by the intersection. Even though the constuction have stopped, they are using this as an excuse to enforce a construction zone speed limit.
Galusha Ave.
Cop usually sits at Grace Church or at the entrance to Saddle Ridge subdivision. It is in a school zone and near a hilly area in town on a narrow road. Easy pickins.
