Eugene, Oregon Speed Traps
Roosevelt Blvd between N. Seneca Rd and Hwy 99
Various police cars, trucks, vans, and motorcycles sit between the green & tan buildings/warehouses on the North side of the road. Most of their vehicles look like commercial vehicles at a warehouse but they are police hidden in plain sight. They tend to ticket the people speeding to make the light at N. Seneca Rd from Hwy 99 or the people who haven’t slowed down from the 45mph zone to the 35mph zone headed toward Hwy 99. One of the buildings is the old VE Tire Auto Center @ 3707 Roosevelt Blvd.
Ferry Street Bridge and 6th Avenue
Turning off the 35 mph bridge ramp onto 20 mph 6th Avenue happens with no warning at the first traffic light at the bottom of the ramp. If the light is green and you just coast to the bottom of the ramp, you will enter 6th Avenue at about 30 mph. This will get you a $205 ticket from a smiling, very courteous, Eugene Motorcycle Officer. The first indication of the speed limit is a small sign in the middle of the block.
7th ave & Taylor
Motorcycle cop sits there in the morning and tickets citizens going to work. The speed is 30mph.
Barger westbound
MC officer likes to hide out of sight on Praslin St.
Beltline – N & S at Royal overpass and onramps
Usually there are at least 2 officers involved. One sits just over the overpass heading towards W11th where he can clock your speed coming over the the rise.
The second is on the other side of the freeway doing the same with the opposite moving traffic.
This set up is usually done once a month at minimum, often for several days during the same week. They tend to do blitzes down Beltline at various points.
