Alcoa, Tennessee Speed Traps
Hwy 129 @ SR 35 interchange
The cop sits right in the median just opposite the McGhee-Tyson airport facing southbound traffic. (35°47’28.07″N – 83°59′.54″W) That entire 129 airport hwy motor mile is always swarming with cops running radar. Stick to the 50mph at all times-only about one mile of cop-ville in that strip.
If you continue on SR35 toward Maryville then stay at the posted speed limit (35)going through Alcoa. They are very rabid right there also.

The speed limit on I-140 is 65. The speed limit on SR162 is 60 although it’s the same highway just less congested.

Middlesettlements Road near Industrial Park Road
This road has changed speed limits in the past six months. Daytime it is always backed up, but at night Alcoa officers are out and backed up in the bushes on the Walmart side of the industrial park. The road has changed from 45 to 35 mph with no change in the roadway.
Washington Road near State Route 129
There is a pull off of sorts on the right side of Washington coming out of Alcoa where it merges on to Rt 129 on the North bound side just after the Texas Roadhouse. They sit there various times of the day or night. 129 is 55mph while Washington is 45. They catch you during acceleration to merge.
