Auburn, Alabama Speed Traps
Glenn Avenue near Donahue Road
Glenn is bad because the speed limit is 25 when it should be 40-45. They hide on the side of the road between college and donahue, they also sit in the dirt area on donahue near the rail road tracks.
Webster Road
Corner of Webster and wire, In fat daddys parking lot. The area is county so not only do you see city cops but also state troopers. They hide next to the car wash.
Wire Rd. between Shug Jordan Drive and Samford Ave.
Officers sit on both sides of the road. Going toward Samford, you can see them on the left side of the road on a dirt access road well hidden behind trees and bushes. Going toward Shug Jordan, you can see them up on the hill on the access road to the back side of the Beef Teaching Unit. Both city AND university police use these spots, and always vary when they are there. Most of the time they are on one side or another, but I have seen them a few times on both sides of the road. There is also a white, unmarked university Police car that patrols the road. The speed limit going toward Samford slows down going up the hill from 50mph to 40mph, but flow stays around 50 or higher. (Insane college students.)
Shelton Road
As one enters Shelton Road past the intersection of East University the speed limit diminishes to an absurd 35 miles an hour in this residental area. Be very careful. Cops hide in several streets off shelton road to fill their quota for the day. As I read once, police keep speed limits absurdly low to maintain revenue distinctively high. Such as the case here.
