Gulf Shores, Alabama Speed Traps
The speed limits vary along Beach Boulevard. Out of town travelers are busy sight seeing and not paying attention to speed limits that start at 45 mph then drop 35 mph or to 25 mph. The signs are placed along side a busy and congested spot and not very noticeable. But these particular spots are watched very closely.
The police lie in wait by the soccer field, either in it or hide under a large tree near the field.
All along hwy 59 there are police crusiers working stationary radar. If you get stopped and receive a ticket ask them when the radar was sent to be calibrated and ask to see the certificate for this purpose.
Here again speed drops from 55 to 45 coming into Gulf Shores on 59.
They will set in wait along the median and at the Shell Station on right.
Each town on Rt. 59 on the way to the beaches has a reduced speed limit,
so watch them all.
Car seen hiding just on other side of building west of 59. All times of day and this was in the height of off season.
