Shades Crest Road near Between I-65 and Highway 150

Hoover, AlabamaDec 11, 20070 Comments

Hoover motorcycle police sit in the driveways where you can’t see them until it’s too late. I have seen them all the way down Shades Crest Road, and at my last trip down that road, saw 4 motorcycle police with cars pulled over. Speed limit varies on this road so be careful.

Ross Bridge Parkway

Where the speed limit lowers to 30 before the school, Hoover waits to catch speeding cars coming over the hill before they spot the police cars. Have seen them right inside the neighborhoods as well.

Brock’s Gap Road near Stadium Trace Pkwy. Street

Hoover, AlabamaSep 15, 20070 Comments

Hoover City police sit on this two lane road used mainly by students and local residents. The road is a cut-through road located between South Shades Crest Road and Stadium Trace Parkway. Hoover High is located less than a mile away and many students use this road. The speed limit is 30mph. Hoover cops sit in two subdivision entrances along this hilly road waiting to catch you coming down the hill. Easy ticket for them.

Lorna Road near Patton Chappel Road

Lorna Rd. runs from Hwy. 31 NE near the Riverchase Galleria back to Hwy. 31 at Vestavia Hills by the ramp to I65. There are various speed traps all day and night. Speed limit is 40 and 30 mph. Be especially careful going downhill.

Interstate 459 near Mile Marker 23

County cops hide in the median lane, both directions, shooting radar out their back window as you come over a sight hill. My ticket for going 12 miles over the speed limit was $325.00. Insane!
