Hoover, Alabama Speed Traps
Old Montgomery Hwy/ 150 Intersection
Cops constanly hiding near this intersection to catch Speeders…also people running redlights, got nailed for for this in Dec of last year.
Inverness Cove Parkway and Hwy 280
A Hoover police SUV regularly sits facing South at the bottom of the steep hill on Inverness Cove Parkway, usually during morning rush hour. The posted speed limit is 35 mph and you have to ride your brakes firmly to avoid going 50 mph. They tag drivers coming down the hill heading towards Hwy 280 and it’s an easy ticket for them.

Valleydale Road near US Highway 280
Hoover police can be seen sitting right past Inverness Elementary School on Valleydale Road at pretty much any time of day. Almost everytime I am driving on that stretch from Hwy. 280 to about Inverness Country Club I see someone pulled over. It is especially bad around school time. While the school zone speed limit is 25 mph, they will pull you over for going 30 mph even 2 hours after school has let out, when the sign is no longer flashing. Watch out through there at all times of day though. 35-40 mph seems to be a safe speed at night if you happen to see a cop.
