Apache Junction, Arizona Speed Traps

Regular police cruiser facing towards Broadway on the west side of 6th Ave. Sits in the shade and is back up the street a ways, so if fairly hard to spot. Good Luck and slow down for that little bit or BAM!, youll get a lovely little ticket.

West bound from IronWood drive in Apache Junction. DPS is close to this on ramp facing west. Almost everyday it’s the same officer, but most days he changes directions so be on the look out.

The trap on Hwy 60 used to be quite notorious, when the speed limit was 55. The limit has since been raised to 65. DPS seems to have backed off a little. Still, drivers should be aware of enforcement in the area. also, I am starting to see more DPS units on SR 88 these days. It’s probably the new cherry patch in AJ

I have driven both directions on this highway many times in the last twelve months. On more than a few occasions, I noticed speed traps, police cars stationed on the highway’s median strip between the towns of Mesa and Gold Canyon. Locals know very well about it, but unsuspecting speeders travelling above 65 mph be warned; my companion on an earlier trip last year was ticketed five minutes after we switched drivers on a long haul from Los Angeles.
