7800 Blk W Tangerine Rd

Marana, ArizonaApr 21, 20090 Comments

There is usually a Marana cop sitting in the driveway to the Cement plant shooting radar. The car is kind of hard to see because of the bushes around the entrance. The speed limit is 50 mph so be careful. I know of people that have got pulled over for going 7 mph over.

Speed trap leaving the town of Marana. The trap is about 900 feet, enough for the police to time you. It is a small town and this collects a lot of revenue for them. It is a road that leaves Marana and goes into Tucson.

Hartman Lane near Cortaro Road

Marana, ArizonaFeb 04, 20080 Comments

Both Marana City Police and County Sheriffs regularly set radar on Hartman Lane north of Cortaro. They hide in a high sided driveway to catch downhill traffic or at the top of the hill behind bushes to catch uphill drivers. Speed limit is only 35 even though no houses or businesses.

Moore Road near Interstate 10

Between frontage road off Tangerine exit and Lon Adams the speed limit is 35 although there is nothing but fields on either side of the road. Police cars often are parked just before Lon Adams intersection.

Speed reduction from 50-45 northbound after the CAP canal. Cruiser is often parked behind the canal wall. Also, another speed reduction from 45-35mph about 200 Fort from the stop light at Twin Peaks. A cruiser often sits in the corner of the intersection. I feel this is overly restrictive, although it is in 1/4 mi of a high school.
