Bakersfield, California Speed Traps
State Route 178 (24th West- 23rd East)
CHP sits between parked cars on M street facing East (right next to Starbucks strip). He is watching for speeding West bound traffic when coming off of State Route 178 where speed limit turns to 35mph at M Street (First Light).
Ming Avenue
Motorcylce officer parks on south El Portal and radars speeds driving on Ming Ave. I live down the street and always see them pulling people over.
Quailwood Drive near Truxtun Avenue
The motorcycle cop was sitting parallel with a mail box and behind it along Quailwood Dr between Truxtun and Stockdale hwy.
State Highway Stockdale Highway near Wegis Avenue Street
A CHP motor officer sits under a tree at the NW corner of the intersection of Wegis Avenue and Stockdale Hwy. The speed limit is 55 there and the road is designed for 4 lanes but has only two marked for now. It is so wide that you may not see the officer way to the North. The enforcement is erratic.
Airport Drive near Norris Road
CHP are almost constantly patrolling Airport Dr. between Norris Rd. and 7th. Standard (aka Merle Haggard dr.).
I drive the road daily at different times, cops will hide on side streets and various places as well as general patrolling. Speed limit is only 40 so beware!
