Brea, California Speed Traps
State College north Boulevard near Cliffwood Avenue
Motor officer sits on the sidewalk on the northwest corner of the intersection monitoring westbound traffic coming blind around an outside curve. Sporatic.
Associated Road near E. Birch Street
Motor Officers will park in the driveway of the church. You will not see them until you pass them going North bound and it to late.
State Highway 90 near Brea Boulevard
The entire section of Imperial Highway between Brea Blvd. and Randolph is a huge speed trap. Motorcycle cops are sitting in numerous driveways. Speed limit is a laughable 35mph which many people do not realize – I surely didn’t when I got a ticket there!
Birch Street near Brea Boulevard
The entire length of Birch Street between Brea Blvd. and Associated Road is littered with motorcycle cops just waiting to pull people over. I drive this stretch to and from work everyday and see drivers getting busted on an almost daily basis. The speed limit from Brea Blvd. up to State College is a dreary 35mph and then it switches to 45mph.
Bastenchury Avenue near Associated Road
Police officer sits at the bottom of the hill and waits for cars to come down the hill (usually trying to make the light). Speed limit is 50 mph and then slows to 45mph. Most cars are going 55-60mph because of the downhill slope, so they get stopped.
