Rancho Santa Fe Street near Melrose Avenue

Carlsbad, CaliforniaJun 12, 20060 Comments

On Rancho Santa Fe, going downhll towards Melrose Ave, there are both Carlsbad motorcycle PD and I have seen 2 Sheriff’s vehicles sitting on the right hand side where the Church is located half way down the hill. They stand on the corner at night and a flash goes off, appearing to be a hand held radar unit or they are sending a message to drivers using a camera. Speed limit is 45 and most traffic does over 50.At night you are up on them before you realize it and hit the brakes. I have seen 3 drivers caught on the Melrose right turn in the last week. 6/10/06

College Street near Cannon Road

Carlsbad, CaliforniaMay 25, 20060 Comments

You will be heading southbound on College Ave from Oceanside into Carlsbad. College Ave becomes Cannon at the bottom of a hill where the posted speed limit is 40 MPH. Give me a break the hill is 1.3 mile long and you’re supposed to wear out breaks because. Most witnessed motorcycle officers four (4). yes 4. Like clock work near the end of the month.

State Route 22 near McCellan Road

Carlsbad, CaliforniaMay 25, 20060 Comments

Heading East Bound on Palomar Airport Road, before you reach McCellan, there is a Motorcycle cop that will park his bike on the island separating east and west bound traffic. His buddies will either also be on the Island behind some trees or parked off to the side of the next intersection ready to pull out infront of you forcing you to slam on your brakes. Then receive your well earned ticket.

Cannon Road near Faraday Avenue

Carlsbad, CaliforniaJul 01, 20050 Comments

Just west of Faraday as you climb the hill there is a small power line access drive on the north side. They love hiding in there and radaring as you climb the hill. Although uphill, the 50 MPH limit is routinely flowing at 60-70. Typically there are two working together ("2 for the price of 1").
