Cerritos, California Speed Traps
Bloomfield Avenue near 166th Street
Traveling southbound on Bloomfield Avenue, the motorcycle officer, likes to hide on the residential street on the right hand side, which is the last residential street before you come to 166th Street. He is always there for the AM rush usually after people rushing to get on the freeway onramp which is right after 166th street. He uses a radar/laser gun & you can find him with someone pulled over on Bloomfield. He hides on the little residential street so that you can’t see him. When you speed by, he pulls out & pulls you over, writes you your ticket, then makes a U-turn and goes right back to do it again. I live not 100 yards from that spot, and I see him all the time. He even got me one time when I was in a rush to make it to a court appearance on time.
Shoemaker Avenue near Interstate 3/4 miles south of interstate 5
Radar surveilance of south bound lane of Shoemaker on early Sat. & Sun. mornings.
Sherrif patrol car will hide in parking lots of local idustrial companies
Obviously just revenue collection or quota achievement…. as this is a large 4 lane divided street in an idustrial area with very little early morning weekend traffic.
Bloomfield Avenue near 195th
The motorcycle cop parks next to a tree in Cerritos Regional Park on Bloomfield and waits for speeders using his ‘gun’.
Gridley Avenue near 195th Street
When turning right from west-bound 195th to north-bound Gridley, there is a cop who hides behind the walls of a residential street. Many people roll through the red light when making their right turn and also there is a school zone just ahead that also gets many people. He is really only there on mornings during school time. I pretty much always see him in the process of pulling someone over.
195th Street near Shoemaker Avenue
Where 195th ends and turns into Shoemaker. Always make a complete stop at the stop sign. He camps out in the corner on his motorcycle.
