Concord, California Speed Traps

Heading on Concord Boulevard in the morning towards downtown, between Ayers Road all the way to Concord High School, expect various radar traps, all motorcycle units, usually in pairs, singles or both.

Weekend enforcement for those who head from Pittsburg towards Concord. Right hand shoulder as you are approaching the bottom of the hill, several motor units using radar AND/OR a squad car shooting radar from the rear as you come down the hill.

This hill is very steep at round 40 degrees, speed limit is 55 MPH, but it’s very easy to exceed it. If you drive a manual, keep the car in 3rd gear, that will keep you at the right speed and won’t kill your brakes.

On late Sunday afternoon heading westbound on Ygnacio Valley Road, after you pass Alberta way, about 1/4 mile on the right hand shoulder there is sometimes a motor unit using radar. The speed limit on this portion of the highway used to be 55 MPH until a car wrecked really bad in there. Now they lowered to 45 MPH and enforce it.

On Treat Blvd. coming from Concord heading towards Walnut Creek light there is a parking lot for the Lime Ridge Open space on the right side of the road. It is on a slight curve going downhill, and the posted speed is 40 MPH. Motorcyle cops hide in twos or threes in the parking lot which is out of view until too late and nab drivers as they come down the hill. It is easy to reach 55 without even touching the gas on this hill and they will take advantage of this fact. Besides myself, I have seen many people pulled over at this location. Better keep your eye on the speedo when passing this area!

all areas are posted 25 to 35 mph but we all know concord drivers speed at least 20 miles over the speed limit brothers beware driving while black does apply in this city racial profiling does exsist i am proof.
