South Avenue near State Highway Highway 99W

Corning, CaliforniaSep 25, 20050 Comments

The Corning cops will set in the Truck Stop parking lots and watch the intersection of South Ave and Hwy 99W, which is also an exit just off I-5.
They watch for anyone not coming to a full stop at the faded White line. this Intersection does not have a real stop light. It only has stop signs and one flashing Red light.
I have lived around Corning for 20 years. theCity never paints the White line there so it is visabale. They use cheap house paint that rubs off after a few weeks. So you never know where the limit line is to stop properly.
This is a bad I-5 exit for people and truckers passing through. They run the sign all the time because they can’t see it. Good money maker for "Cornhole" Out of Towners just pay the fine, they don’t want to come back to Corning to fight it in Court.

Interstate Interstate 5 near South Avenue

CHP will use the airplane to pace you on I 5 from the Glenn County line to Gerber exit off I 5 about 8 miles north of Corning. They will pick certain days and have heavy enforcement using up to 6 cop cars. They will work both North and South bond lanes at the same time.
CHP will also use their cars as pace cars on this roadway. They will use the all White painted cars with no lightbars or spot lights. The cars almost look like undercover cars from the front and rear. The CHP really goes after truckers with these cars.
Good money maker for Corning and Tehama County Courts. Out of Towners just pay the fine, they don’t want to come back to Corning to fight it in Court.
