Costa Mesa, California Speed Traps
Broadway and Newport Blvd
The cops sit in the Triangle square,in the tunnel, and it’s like shooting fish in a barrel, red light runners ,phone talkers
ANYWHERE on Broadway, between Tustin and Orange Ave.
Bike cops like to sit on Raymond and/or Westminister shooting radar in both directions. I have seen up to three cops sitting at these spots. Not often there but you have to watch your speed as it is posted 25mph and enforced to the max. I have lived on Magnolia St. for the last 59 years and have seen a lot of people cited there (Broadway). Also, bear in mind that Costa Mesa’s motor cops have a definite bad attitude….like they are above it all…in fact all of CMPD seems to have that attitude.
17th Street between Newport Blvd & Irvine St.
Called the “17th Street Promenade” by us locals, its a 4 mile stretch of bars, restaurants, and shopping. The entire area is heavily patroled! And forget about riding a motorcycle there.
South Coast Drive and the AAA Entrance Sign by OC Register
Cops hide behind the AAA sign
Southbound Harbor Blvd @ Giesler
Bewtween 1 & 4 motorcycles hiding between the closed Deli and the Arco catching southbound traffic. Giving out tickets for everything.
