N Bound El Camino Real at Willowspring
Motorcycle cop with radar usually sits on Willowspring next to San Diego Credit Union. I’ve seen him there at least 2 days a week during the AM rush. Speed limit changes from 35 to 45 at this intersection.
1/2 Mile South of the intersection Luecadia Blvd and El Camino Real
Traveling South on El Camino Real, the deputies will park 1/2 mile South of the Luecadia Blvd intersection with El Camino Real. The road goes through several reductions in speed, North of the Luecadia-El Camino Real intersection the speed is 55Mph, South of the intersection it is 45Mph, and a 1/2 Mile to the south there is another reduction to 35MPH, the deputies sit awaiting for drivers whom are unaware of this.
Encinitas Blvd, appx 1/2 mile east of I-5
As you head east on Encinitas Boulevard from I-5, there is evidence of road construction – cones and heavy equipment, but no signs of actual road construction for some weeks now. Temporary 25 MPH speed limit signs have been posted along with the obligatory (cha-ching) "Traffic Fines Doubled in Construction Zones" signs. CHP runs quite a racket here, with a "spotter" in a marked vehicle and several "chasers" on foot with their motorcycles parked near by. They do quite a brisk business – last Wednesday I saw three or four cars lines up, waiting to get tickets written.
