Weber Avenue near Shaw Avenue

Fresno, CaliforniaFeb 20, 20080 Comments

MC and/or PC wait in the business parking lots South of Shaw and Brawley, at the end of the double-lane road where the 2 SB lanes merge on the East side Brawley. Another cop waits further down near the curve, where Brawley curves and becomes Weber. They tag team. It is that curve, where you must slow from 45 to 30 MPH in not too much time, that they Get You! Instead of that route, from Shaw take the shortcut on Marty Ave. and avoid that curve. Marty Ave. turns into Valentine Ave. and goes straight out to Weber Ave., avoiding the curve. The day I forgot to do that it cost me $350 on that curve! Keep to 45MPH on Weber Ave. from Marty Ave. to Sheilds+, because they have been patrolling there a lot lately.

School intersection; motorcycle officer sits on frontage road to the west, south of Escalon, facing southbound traffic.

Golden State Boulevard near State Route 99

Fresno, CaliforniaJan 15, 20082 Comments

As you exit Southbound SR99 onto Southbound Golden State, which is little more than a merge, the speed limit drops to 50mph. As you come out from under an overpass it is very easy to maintain 65-70mph without even noticing it. Quite often a Motorcycle cop with radar will be waiting for you at the top of the grade. They will hide on either side of Golden State catching both northbound & southbound traffic.
I have witnessed scores of tickets being written here.

Santa Fe Avenue near Herndon Avenue

Fresno, CaliforniaNov 13, 20070 Comments

Santa Fe, runs parallel to the Railroad tracks, between Herndon and the Bullard Loop. MC officer usually hides behind a Tractor Trailer Rig, who I might add is illegally parked. In this position he cannot be seen by drivers headed from the loop to Herndon. Drivers coming from herndon cannot see him because he is shaded by the shadow of the truck trailer until you are right in front of him. He also hides on the opposite side of the street just behind the new block wall. I set my cruise control to 35 on this street and was actually passed by a driver who was nailed doing probably 60, poor guy, wonder if he was cited for an illegal pass over a bridge as well. Beware, this MC cop is crafty, who knows where he will be next.
