Glendale, California Speed Traps
Chevy Chase Dr Street near Chevy Oaks Dr Street
Two bikes work Chevy Chase Dr from the 2Fwy overpass to 3 miles up the canyon at least once a week. They radar from cross streets, behind cars, and from private driveways on either side of street. Simply drop your speed and follow the signs, even though they are much too slow – because you can’t tell when/where they’ll show up. Headlight flashing to oncoming vehicles is a common signal.
Holly Avenue near 2 Freeway
Highway Patrol frequently park on the overpass to Holly Ave. and watch traffic below. I’ve seen a lot of people get tickets this way. More recently they have been hiding behind the oleander bushes on the on-ramps on both sides of the freeway.
Alameda Avenue near Bel Air Drive
Two Glendale officers parked their motorcycles on a public sidewalk along Birch Avenue. so they can deliberately camouflaged themselves using the cover a large tree trunk, the shade of the tree itself, a tall green hedge and the adjacent house structure to cover up their location, uniforms and motorcycles to the oncoming traffic from all directions. Because of their position with the curb they blocked the wheelchair ramp and force pedestrians and handicap people to walk/wheel on the street. At times, to pursue an alleged subject, either officer taking turns would start their motorcycle(s) and drive off the sidewalk using the wheelchair accessibility ramp as their own personal on ramp to the road. This is all in violation of Vehicle codes 22500, 22500f, 22500L, 21663, & 40804b. Any one who gets a ticket like this should fight it by Mail first. If you can prove an Speed Trap the your case should be thrown out according to Vehicle codes 40804b. I wish I could attach a photo I have of the intersection with the officers sitting pretty on their motorcycles
Sonora Street near Interstate 5 Fwy
Motorcycle officer sits under the 5 Fwy bridge, in a shaded area. Points radar gun at either east bound or west bound traffic. Traffic goes 50-60 mph in a 35 mph zone thru a neighborhood that has lots of horses and kids.
State Highway 134 Ventura Freeway near US Highway 5 Golden State Freeway
Enforcing the car pool lane. Waste of time, all it does is slow down everyone which makes traffic even worse.
