Huntington Beach, California Speed Traps
Edwards Street near Garfield Avenue
HB motor cycle cop sits in a alcove for a gated community 100 yds south of the Firestation on Edwards in the South Bound direction. Both of my kids have gotten speeding tickets and I have seen numerous others. Posted limit is 40 ( I think ) but it’s easy to go 50.
State Highway Pacific Coast Highway near Brookhurst Street
Pacific Coast Highway at the Huntington Beach City and Newport Beach City border – Going south the trap is just before the Santa Ana River bridge and right after the bridge. The motorcycle cops use radar.
Warner Avenue near Magnolia Street
Around the lunch time rush, a motorcycle officer is frequently posted in or by a strip mall (right by a small side street called Ross Lane), between Newland and Magnolia as you are traveling on Warner to merge onto the 405S.
Edinger Avenue near Gothard Street
The Motorcycle HBPD sits on the side of the Verizon Building parking lot. The Patrol is between the Verizon building and the Lamp Store.
GoldenWest Street near State Highway PCH
I last lived in H.B. 16 years ago. But, GW southbound from HBHS, as it curves west used to have M/C units on the north side with radar just before PCH. Last visit earlier this year I saw housing built up and additional traffic lights, but I would guess PD still sits on sidestreets waiting for people to accelerate after H.S. heading the last mile or so to PCH.
