El Toro Road

OC Sheriff patrols this area almost constantly. This is a posted zero-tolerance/ double fines zone. I received a very important cell phone call that I had to read from some paperwork for, so I pulled to the side of the road and stopped (just like the police have told us to do,when you get an important call!). Road has wide shoulders, my car was totally out of traffic, parked and posed no danger to anyone. Sheriff pulled in behind me and lit up his christmas tree. I had finished my call and explained to him what I had done. He issued me with an obstructing traffic citation, and it was a MOVING VIOLATION too, even though I was parked. $350 after fine, fees and traffic school, though that’s still cheaper than losing in court and having my insurance rates jacked up.

La Paz Road from Moulton Pkwy to Gallup Circle

Extra Caution at Gallup (top of hill-can’t see til last second)!! Laser is used VERY heavily throughout the area (by OC sherriff) and even with a laser detector you will not be saved. South Orange County has a severe problem with unfair speed traps combined with HEAVY use of Laser.
