Orange, California Speed Traps
Santiago Canyon Road near Meads Road
They can often be found anywhere between Meads/Windes and Newport Blvd
Katella Avenue near Wanda Street
Around 9am in the morning on weekdays, the same motocycle cop will park his bike amongst the trees and pull out his radar gun. He stops on the east side of Wanda, 1 block south of Katella. This section of Wanda is a fairly long straight-way so it’s easy to be speeding. Posted limit is 35mph.
Collins Avenue near Prospect Avenue
Collins curves south and turns into Prospect. The two or three blocks before the curve is where motocycle cops like to hide and pull out their radar gun. I have witnessed them hide between parked cars and in the driveway of the apartment buildings. Cops are there during morning rush hour and evening rush hour. Posted speed is 35mph.
Orangewood Street near Main Street
Motorcycle enforcement located in various positions heading west from the corner of orangewood and main. Often times their will be two motorcycle officers working the area in two different locations but within 1/4 mile of each other on opposite sides of the street. There is a park located on the south side of orangewood but is separated from the street by a large parking area. Orangewood is a four lane road going through industrial area but the speed limit is 35mph.
Newport Boulevard near Canyon View Street
Motorcycle cop on Newport Blvd south of Canyon View, which is downhill and where drivers tend to go over the speed limit. The perfect opportunity for a speeding ticket.
