Petaluma, California Speed Traps

Bus Stop across the Street from SRJC. During the late afternoon, a shadow is cast in front of the the Bus stop. Motorcycle police sits in plain sight in the shadow waiting for speeders…….

Heading north/west along Lakeville from the 101 offramps to the D Street stoplight, the speed limit drops to 30 just as the road curves to the right. The PPD has been parking along Jefferson street, right before D street, where they have a good view of oncoming traffic. In the evening commute hours, the sun makes it difficult to see them there. Lately (summer/fall 2007) I have seen them camp there regularly and pull several people over.

Motorcycle Police sit behind bus stop on west side of Sonoma Mtn North of E. Washington, near the Seniors home.

Hiway 116 at PineView Way going south/east (towards Sonoma) about a mile past the last industrial area on 116 as you leave the main part of Petaluma. Motorcycle cop sits behind Kaiser Permanante sign (you can’t see him). Speed limit is 45mph and changes to 55 at this sign. He WILL nail you. He’e there many mornings during the 6am – 9am rush hour….

California Highway Patrol sits just inside side gate to the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center.
