N. McDowell by the hospital
Motorcycle cop who sits in the parking lot entrance to Luchessi Rec Center. It is a 40 MPH, then quickly a 30 MPH for the hospital zone (three blocks) and then back to a 40 MPH. Every week they are there.
East Washington St. between Maria Drive & McDowell Blvd.
Keep to 35 MPH speed limit on this stretch. During morning commute hours, watch for PPD motorcycle officer in driveway of Chevron station aiming his radar gun at westbound traffic headed toward Highway 101.
Valley Ford Road
Just east of Roblar, CHP officer parks vehicle back off road and uses hand held. He targets westbound cars coming down the steep and straight highway where even if the car is on cruise control at 55 your speed may be more than that.
Old Redwood Hwy @ Applebees
Petaluma cop sits in Applebee’s driveway just before the McDowell light or behind the utility box in the first driveway on your right on Old Redwood Hwy just after the “bridge”. Speed limit goes from 40 at the “bridge” to 35 right before Redwood Way light. Usually mornings around 8am…sometimes in the mid afternoon.
US Highway 116
Highway 116 at PineView Way going south/east (towards Sonoma) about a mile past the last industrial area on 116 as you leave the main part of Petaluma. Motorcycle cop sits behind Kaiser Permanante sign (you can’t see him). Speed limit is 45mph and changes to 55 at this sign. He WILL nail you. He’s there many mornings during the 6am – 9am rush hour….
