Sacramento, California Speed Traps
Interstate 5 Sbound near Sutterville Road
Cop sits on the Sutterville Bridge overpass watching Southbound traffic on I-5. The bridge is just after a curve so its hard to see the cop. Usually is there during afternoon rush hour though I have seen a cop during morning rush hour occasionally.
Eastern Way near Fair Oaks Boulevard
From Fair oaks BLVD heading North onto Eastern Way, beware of CHP bike cop sitting in the shadows. He is ALWAYS there. Speed limit is 40, yes, 40! Do not go 45! He’ll pull you over and issue a ticket. I’ve seen this cop during many times of the day. I make this trip 5 times out of the week. Also beware of his position, it is right before the SCHOOL zone on the right if you are heading north bound towards Arden way. If you are heading south from arden, to fair oaks, he’ll be on your left, under a tree just past the school. be careful, and good luck!
Fulton Avenue near Munroe St to Arden Way
There is a CHP team that patrols Fulton Avenue heavily from Munroe Street to Arden Way. This is a posted 35 mph zone and these two will stop you for anything over that. I see them on stops out there EVERY NIGHT. There are a few bars in the area and I think they use speeding as an excuse to stop DUI’s (They got me at 50 and took me to jail!)
Interstate 80 near CHP Brack Station
On Sunday mornings on your way out of Sacramento heading toward Lake Tahoe. Usually there are anywhere from 5 to 10 CHP black and whites, camero’s and motercycles waiting on the on Analope Rd Onramp. Sometimes they will be just sitting on the side of the freeway. Sometimes the motorcycles will be sitting under the bridge. They run radar and use the airplane. By the time you see them, it is too late.
