Sacramento, California Speed Traps
Land Park Drive near Broadway Way
I can’t believe this speedtrap isn’t already on this site. It is on Land Park Drive between the Sacramento Zoo through William Land Park to Broadway. The posted limit is 25 (at least for the parts that go past Cal Middle School, I am not sure if it is all 25mph) and motorcycle cops like to sit on side streets through the residential area and in the park with their radars. I got ticketed for doing 44mph. Often several motorcycle cops will pull over several motorists at once. The street is very wide so it kind of tricks people into thinking the speed limit is higher than it really is, but "25mph" is painted all over the street. I can tell many people know about this trap because people tend to drive very slowly around this area. There are some very well-to-do people that live in this area and when they complain about speeders it is obvious the cops listen.
Morse Avenue near Arden Way
Motorcycle officer (CHP) sits two blocks south of Arden on Morse Avenue. Picks off two at a time for around two hours a day. Posted is 35 MPH, which is a fair speed, but one that is never obeyed. Be careful, every weekday from 4:00 to 6:00.
Franklin Boulevard near Calvine Road
For the last couple of weeks I have seen multiple motorcycle cops hiding in residential streets off North-bound Franklin Blvd. between Laguna Blvd. and Florin Rd. (Calvine Rd. is about half-way between the two.) It is not uncommon to see speeds of 60 to 65 mph here. Posted speed limit is 45.
Lincoln Village Drive near Routier Road
3 motorcycle cops sitting in a row at an area about 100 ft west of the stop sign at Routier Rd. With a radar gun they jump out and flash you down. This is a 25 MPH zone and they have clocked you from way back. I was ticketed for 35 in this zone and saw at least 7 other cars stopped at the same location within the same time fame.
South Watt Avenue near Between Fruitridge Rd, & Kiefer
Motorcycle hidden behind foliage at bottom of hill.
