Leigh Avenue near Dry Creek Road
Approximately once a week use radar and hidden police to catch speeders. (I don’t know if this qualifies as a speed trap or not)
State Highway 87 near Narvaez Avenue
SJPD often has two or three cops positioned on the Northbound Highway 87 on-ramp from Narvaez Avenue (just north of Capitol Expressway). They are looking to catch those drivers who have turned on to the on-ramp against a red light. (NOTE: Right turns on the on-ramp against a red light are prohibited from 6AM-9AM.) One officer will usually stand right at the on-ramp entrance, and alert the offending vehicle to one of the other two officers further up on the on-ramp.
Branham Lane Avenue near Pearl Avenue
Moving WEST on Branham Lane and BEFORE Pear lAve, officers wait for people to come down the hill near the Branham Lightrail Station. They use radar and are very successful in stopping speeding cars. Be forewarned!
Interstate 101 N near Bailey Ave. on ramp Avenue
As you travel North on 101 from Gilroy/Morgan Hill you will eventually see an officer sitting at the Baily Ave. on ramp. Just behind the retaing wall at the end of the loop. In order for you to see him you must use your rearview mirror, but then it’s probably to late.
Branham Lane near Narvaez Avenue
A San Jose PD, Moto officer, Usually sitting under a tree, on the corner of Heppner Lane, aiming uphill, to the overpass. Targeting the west bound direction. Officer is watching the top of the overpass, crossing over Hwy 87.
