San Jose, California Speed Traps
McKay Drive, between Lundy and Ringwood
Motorcycle police officer on foot with photo radar, flagging down motorists. 25 mph zone enforcement.
North 11th St between Taylor and Hedding
For the past few months SJPD have been using laser to pinpoint speeders on this section of road. They are not there every day but they have been on for a few days and off for a few. It is a pack of officers with a couple zapping cars, another waving them down (Sometimes running out into oncoming traffic putting their safety and the safety of the drivers in peril) and 3 or 4 officers cranking out tickets. They hide around the corer on either Mission or Vestal Street. Meaning this has nothing to do with safety but is only meant for revenues to the general fund.
Old Oakland Road/Brokaw/13th Street
2 moto cops parked in business parking lot hidden by grass hill near Brokaw. They stand on the sidewalk and use laser Radar and walk into 3 lanes of traffic to wave people down. I was told they will be there the whole month of July during commute hours.
East Gish Road/Old Bayshore Road
Moto cops parked in driveway near the Fire Station on East Gish Road near where it crosses Old Bayshore Road. They stand on the sidewalk and use laser Radar and walk into traffic to wave people down.
