Walnut Creek, California Speed Traps
Camino Diablo Boulevard near Mt. Diablo Road
At the 7-11 and across the street for it, there is sometimes a cop there to discourage robbery and he’s hard to see because he’s around the corner of a building in the parking lot of the 7-11.
Newell Avenue near South Main Street
Cops are parked in the shade Macy’s parking lot making them hard to see and usually one cop faces each direction. Mostly they just nail kids jay-walking from Las Lomas High, but they stay there a lot.
Saranap Avenue near Hulls Mortuary
One or two officers park on the south side of the mortuary, so their presence is obscured untill you pass by them. The moruary is located at the bottom of the hill on the inside of a turn. The downhill speed limit is 25. It is very dificult to maintin that speed with out riding your brakes all the way down the hill.
Treat Boulevard near Cherry Avenue
Usually patrolled by a motorcycle cop between Cherry and Oak Grove. Cop will park his bike on the sidewalk or in the curbed median out of site, then stand on the street corner and radar oncoming traffic. I have counted as many as a dozen citations in one morning as the cop pulls people into my office parking lot. Watch coming around the curve between Cherry and BancroFort.. a real hot spot.
Civic Drive near Ygnacio Valley Road
Motor officer will hide behind the last building on the right as you take a right turn from Civic Drive onto Ygancio Valley Road.
Looking for those who don’t fully stop on red.
