Commerce City, Colorado Speed Traps
East 56th Ave. between Monaco St. and Quebec Pkwy.
This area is an alternative route for many trucks, and others trying to avoid I-70 traffic issues. The motorcycle police stake out the entire run, but prefer the school zone near Bax court, just east of Quebec. Both east and West Bound!
South Dexter Street
Commerce City police monitor this intersection all the time. Currently they have been enforcing the right turn only sign at Dexter to turn right onto 60th Avenue. Problem, the signage is in violation of Federal Statutes. The DOT has promised to fix. but, the CC police still write tickets even though they know the tickets are unlawful because of the signage issues. The signage can not be confusing and the Traffic Court Judge is on record stating that the intersection is confusing and lacks the usual markings and signage, except for one sign directing drivers into the Wendy’s parking lot.

470 Expressway near 104th Avenue
The State Trooper sits on the 104th Avenue overpass over E-470, timing Northbound traffic 3 exits north of DIA. Because he is on the overpass, it is difficult to see the car.
Interstate 25 near Any of I-25 that runs thru Commerce City
Any of I-25 that runs thru Commerce City, which is on the north side of Denver. They will throw out a single orange cone, have a single sign way on the side of the road and the speed limit immediately drops 10mph. A state patrol sits there and pulls people over one, right after another. The city offered to drop all points if I paid within a certain number of days, but the fine (for less than 10mph over) was $360! I’ve spoken to several people who have been caught in this trap and I drive thru this area all the time, there are troopers all over looking to pull someone over.
