Monument, Colorado Speed Traps
Old Denver highway
Monument city cops like to park in the storage unit area just south of the Colorado Sports Center on Old Denver Highway
County Line Road from Palmer Lake to Hwy #83
Douglas County Sheriffs come down to County Line to ticket and raise money from El Paso County residents. Shameful and should be stopped by El Paso County commissioners. Will often write for 20+ regardless of speed so they get an $800+ ticket. Was going 48 in a 45 and was written for 67! When I asked to see the speed on the radar unit, the officer said “he didn’t have to and could write me for whatever speed he wanted to.” This has been going on for years and needs to be stopped.
Eastbound South side of Baptist Rd. east of I-25
Unknown to many of us, there is a 35 sign that you barely have time to see if you are merging to the left after exiting northbound I-25 at Baptist. Most of us think the speed limit is 45 there as it is further up Baptist before Leather Chaps light. Monument officers frequent the short street on the south side of Baptist between McDonald’s and Auto Zone and they’ll tag you from there all the way down the hill as you cross Jackson Creek Pkwy. You don’t have a prayer of seeing them from that distance.
Jackson Creek
If you’re northbound toward Wal-Mart. Beware,he’s by Wells Fargo bank on Jackson Creek.
heading north on 105
they are at the park or the the other side of the bridge.
