Felton, Delaware Speed Traps

I have seen the Felton Police sitting in an umarked Ford Explorer or Expedition, dark blue in color on the northbound side, north of town on Rt 13. He will be sitting there, with his turn signal on like he is trying to pull onto the highway. Instead when you get closer, you will recognize that he is holding a radar gun, and Will Pull You Over. This is entrapment at its worst!

Speed goes from 55MPH to 45MPH in a short distance as it does with many towns along Route 1. Enforcement is harsh. Maybe we can bypass DE Rt 1 and not patronize the businesses along that road? As it is now, we refuse to buy anything (gas, food) in DE on Rt 1 until all the speed traps are abolished.

North or South bound. Anytime of day. They typically target out of staters, (military going back and forth from the Norfolk area). I have seen as many as 4 cops, waving over people at one time. When the speed limit says 45mph, BELIEVE IT! Also, do not quickly accelerate at the stop light in the middle of town, they will get you headed out! I saw them pull the same guy over twice within a mile. Once going in, once going out. NOT his day!

Going East or West on Killens pond road you must watch for the cops who sit at the boat ramp. They sit back in the woods so it is hard to see them coming from either direction. They are especially bad in the morning, when they get kids going to Lake Forest High School.
