MacArthur Boulevard near Arizona Avenue

Washington, District of ColumbiaDec 09, 20031 Comments

The trap is located in the 3400-3500 block of MacArthur Blvd, heading westbound. A Ford Crown Victoria idles in the far right lane, near the entrance to a cul de sac of new homes called MacArthur Place. The posted speed limit here is 25 mph, but most traffic is moving along at approximately 45-50 mph. This trap has been there for over a year and you can observe "seasoned" MacAruthur drivers pull into the center lane and drop to 25-30 mph for this one block of the Blvd. The Crown Victoria is most often seen during the evening rush hour and less often late night.

Cameras are all over 295 in DC. Posted speed is 45 mph, which is a lot lower than the prevailing speed, especially as you cross over from MD-295 to DC-295.

4100 Block of Alabama Ave. S.E.

Washington, District of ColumbiaNov 03, 20030 Comments

Unmarked Ford Crown Victoria in metallic blue or black. Always sit on right hand side of the street (south west bound). Vehicles give impression that they are unattended. Sometimes they may have an orange road cones placed in the rear to act like they are providing some form of safety for a road crew. This car has been at this spot since Mid September 2003.
