Speed limit sign reinforces existing speed limit of 65 mph.on 301S. Shortly thereafter it drops to 55 mph. As soon as it drops you are hit by radar. It does not seem to make too much sense that the existing speed limit of 65 mph is posted and then droped within a couple of hundred yards.

Speed zone marked as reduced from 55 to 45. Reduce speed to 45 placed next to school zone sign, so it appears that school zone is 45 MPH. When you pass school zone and travel additional block you hit blinking school zone sign which says reduce speed to 20MPH. By then you have passed the zone and they’ve got you.

Northbound on US 301 speed limit reduced from 45mph to 20mph at traffic light for school zone. Speed sign of 45mph posted immediately before light with school speed of 20mph posted above highway at light. When light is green driver will not see school speed limit sign because it is not posted at road level as normal. Speed reduction is not justified on four lane highway with no apparent school location adjacent to road. Apparent reason for school zone is to cross students which is already safe due to traffic light and crossing guard. Ticketed for 38mph at cost of $280.00 (fine doubles in school zone). Believe designed to collect revenue from out of state drivers who can not contest ticket.
